2nd Day
We went to Kadıköy. I took my guests to Dem, a very sophisticated tea house in the charming and beautiful district of Moda. Afterwards, I took them to Asuman next door, the best dessert shop in Istanbul.
Dem Moda
Afterwards, we went through Moda Park and to the statue of Alex de Souza.
Statue of the Great Captain Alex de Souza, Yoğurtçu Parkı
I told my guests how Alex de Souza, called “Alex” in Turkish society, had a solid place in the hearts of the Turkish people. Explaining them we even have an expression in Turkish, “Bir Alex değil”, which means “You might be great, but you can’t be as great as an Alex.”
I shared our photos with Alex’s statue on social media, writing “Certainly this incredible man, this incredible athlete was one of the first bridges between Brazil and Turkey. What love and passion we Turks have for Brazilians! Come visit this symbol of love in Kadıköy, Yoğurtçu Parkı!”
Afterwards, author Viviane Roux Bruno, who had connections in the Brazilian football world due to her father Marco Bruno, reached out to Felipe Ximenes, who reached out to Alex de Souza.
Alex de Souza shared our event on his instagram account, making Naiada Dance Art the first and only dance studio in Turkey, shared on his page.
Istanbul Tour for the Brazilian Dance Guests (🇹🇷🇧🇷)
We went to Türkan Meyhane, right across the statue of Alex de Souza. Here, my guests watched Turkish belly dance and we danced with the belly dancer. Also, with Luan and Dana, we did “halay” with the rest of the guests. Luan and Iara danced Zouk and Iara did some samba no pé steps. The whole crowd went wild!
